Valentine's Day

We don't do much for Valentine's day.
No extravagant bouquets, boxes of chocolates or fancy dinners.
We do, however, try to make each other feel special.

I came home from work to some chocolate covered oreos, the house decorated, and this valentine made by Patrick.

Could a wife ask for better than this?? I doubt it!

Patrick doesn't win the lottery

Somehow Pat ended up being the guy who has to go buy all of the lottery tickets for the office.
$112 dollars worth.

Looking classy!
No one won.

Patrick on ice

Pat decided to go shovel today.
There really wasn't any snow.

See? No snow.

However there was a thin coating of ice, and he enjoyed sliding along the sidewalk.

Old but good

I was going through my phone and found these pictures.
This happened on 8/18/12

Patrick was trying to "fix" his umbrella in the car.

Patrick gives himself a haircut.

I wish I had more pictures of this!

One Sunday, I came home from work and a very excited sounding Patrick shouts to me from the basement "I'm down here!!!"

He darted into view and shouted "I'M GIVING MYSELF A HAIRCUT!" before running out of site again.
In that brief moment, I could tell this was not going well.
There were chunks of hair missing from all over his head.

I hung up my coat, and went to see if I could help.

There in the basement he had a wooden chair, his beard trimmer, and a tiny mirror.
This is the selfie he took while I was trying to fix his hair.

It still looked crappy. I'm no hairdresser.

Patrick makes babies cry.

This is Isaac, our nephew.
He's a cute and generally happy kid.

Patrick wanted to hold him.

The Passion of the Patrick

Patrick and I walked to a block sale a few streets over from us.
We bought a nice table, and Patrick carried it back home on his back.

On the way home, we passed a teenager.
Since Pat was carrying the table crucifix style, he made sure to tell the kid "Jesus died for your sins."
